Profile- LEV In Focus

LEV

The Free Spirit of NOTH

LEV is movement without escape.

Born Luka Juriฤ‡, he writes and sings from the space between belonging and breaking away โ€” between the place that made you and the part of you that still needs to leave it.

Within NOTH, LEV is The Free Spirit.

His music is rooted in Croatia but refuses to stay inside one form. Traditional folk colour sits beside grime-influenced rhythm, hip-hop phrasing, rock energy and contemporary production. Wooden flute, violin, acoustic guitar and live percussion can exist alongside sub-bass, sparse electronics and hard-edged drums without losing their sense of place.

At the centre is his voice: earthy, direct and deeply human.

LEV can move from intimate folk storytelling into agile conversational rap, from restrained melody into full rock release, and when the song demands it, into the emotional sweep of a Balkan ballad. He does not treat those styles as separate identities. They are different ways of telling the same truth.

His writing is drawn to freedom, memory, inheritance, distance and the uneasy relationship between home and possibility. There is often dust in the road, salt in the air and something unresolved just beyond the horizon.

The SLOBODA era brings those tensions into focus.

Freedom, for LEV, is not simply leaving.

It is choosing what you carry with you.

Choosing what still belongs to you.

And choosing, finally, which direction is your own.

LEV. The Free Spirit of NOTH.

If you want to understand me, start with SLOBODA.

Freedom.

Sounds simple, jelโ€™ da?

But freedom isnโ€™t just leaving everything behind and running somewhere new. Sometimes itโ€™s knowing where you come from and still having the courage to choose your own road.

That song has a bit of everything I carry with me โ€” Croatia, folk, rhythm, noise, heartโ€ฆ and probably a little stubbornness.

Dobro, maybe more than a little.

I can sing quietly. I can tell you a story. I can spit a verse or turn the whole thing up until the walls shake.

But underneath all of it, Iโ€™m looking for the same thing.

Sloboda.

To breathe fully.

To move.

To be myself.

Thatโ€™s probably the best place to meet me.

Musical influences
LEV draws from Croatian folk, Balkan balladry, grime, hip-hop, alternative rock and contemporary singer-songwriter music. Traditional instruments such as wooden flute and violin sit beside sparse electronic production, sub-bass, live percussion and guitar. His music is built around contrast: intimate storytelling, conversational rap phrasing, raw rhythmic momentum and big emotional release.

Fashion direction
LEVโ€™s style feels ย rather functional, earthy and slightly rebellious rather than fashion-for-fashionโ€™s-sake. Think worn leather, heavy cotton, textured knits, loose shirts, workwear trousers, dark denim, boots and weathered outerwear, with occasional traditional Croatian or Adriatic references used subtly rather than literally.

The visual mood is coastal Croatia meets urban underground โ€” sun-faded fabrics, stone, dust, salt, olive tones, black, charcoal and off-white, with pieces that look lived in rather than styled too perfectly.

Fashion influences: Croatian designers such as Boris Banoviฤ‡ for sharp contemporary menswear, Damir Doma for stripped-back, architectural silhouettes, and the broader experimental Croatian design tradition for its balance of utility, individuality and edge.ย
